Mainstream Living is pleased to open the Cheville House, a new group home for adults with intellectual disabilities located at 1417 Douglas Avenue in Ames. In a partnership with the city of Ames Housing Department, United Way of Story County, and the Story County Housing Trust Fund, the Beth Cheville House will provide community housing and support services to five adults with disabilities.

The home is named for Beth Cheville who, with her husband Norman, is one of four families who founded Mainstream Living in 1975. “We are thrilled to honor Beth Cheville’s decades of advocacy. Her dedication to ensuring people with disabilities live fulfilling and integrated lives in
community settings is an inspiration to all of us,” said Mainstream Living President and CEO Bill Vaughn.
